There is a lot of history behind this new name. Music I’m proud of. People I’m grateful for. Lessons I had to learn the hard way. And a hunger to keep creating that has never gone away.

Welcome to VOLTASM.

For the past year and a half, I’ve been building and releasing music as Disobey (US). Along the way, I received messages from bands and other DJs telling me, “You can’t use that name.” For a long time, I kept doing my thing. My energy went into the music.

Then I started hearing something that actually bothered me.

“I can’t find your tracks.”

People wanted to listen, and finding me had become a project. Explaining “add the (US) after Disobey” got old. When someone connects with your music, that connection should lead straight to the next track. Having to explain how to search for me was getting in the way of everything I was working toward.

It was time to give the music a name I could build around with confidence.

I’m proud of what I created as Disobey (US). I had the opportunity to work with great people through Audiorotica, Carnage Merchandise and Hard Techno Tribe. Those relationships and releases are part of my story, and I carry that experience forward with real appreciation.

And my story goes back further.

Before Disobey (US), there was Moxie. Under that name, I signed with Germany’s Blutonium Records and spent my early years creating UK hard house, hard house and hardstyle. Over the years, I’ve shared lineups with some heavy hitters and experienced what happens when the right music meets a crowd that is ready to let go.

That feeling stays with you. It’s why I still want to make the next track. It’s why I still think about what I could play next, how I could build a set, and where I could take a room.

VOLTASM gives all of that somewhere to go.

I wanted a name with its own identity. Something that carries the electricity, intensity and release I feel in this music. Something I can grow into without having to put a fence around my sound.

Hard techno. Hardstyle. Hard house. If I love it and it belongs in the set, I’m playing it.

I’ve spent too many years loving different corners of hard dance to pretend that only one of them matters to me. You’ll hear that history in VOLTASM. You’ll also hear where my curiosity takes me next.

Behind the decks, I care about the whole journey. The tension. The moments that give you room to breathe. The track you didn’t expect that somehow makes perfect sense. Then that moment when the room goes off together.

There is an art to earning that reaction. That’s the part of DJing I love, and that’s what I’m bringing with me.

The first release under VOLTASM, “Rock Wit,” is out now through Hard Techno Tribe.

It means a lot to put this first one out. After the work, the frustration and the decision to start a new chapter, there’s finally something you can press play on.

To everyone who has supported me through the different names and different chapters, thank you. Every listen, every shared track and every person who showed up has mattered. I don’t take any of it for granted. I still have some promises to keep, and I will.

If you’re finding me for the first time, you’re right on time.

I know what I bring to this music. I’ve put years into it, and I’m coming into this chapter with that experience behind me and plenty left to say.
